Cover to Cover: 2024 Reading Challenge
Adults and Teens in Tuscarawas County are encouraged to participate in the County Library’s Cover to Cover Reading Challenge. Participants are challenged to read 20 different books from specific genres throughout 2024. Those who complete the challenge will receive a free umbrella inscribed with the words “I’d Rather Be Reading.”

Interested participants can download the Beanstack Tracker app on any smartphone or tablet or visit tusclibrary.beanstack.org on the web. A paper version of the challenge will also be offered in the latest edition of Between the Lines – the library programming newsletter is delivered by mail to homes within the Library’s service district in Tuscarawas County.

Join us at the picnic pavilion for a Pop-Up Library with lunch provided in the cafeteria by the Salvation Army/Learning Zone Summer Food Program. Bring your library card or sign up for a new one and check out materials, register for programs, and even listen to a storytime. A hot lunch will be provided from 11: 00 AM - 12:00 PM for children ages 18 and under in attendance.

Jennifer Schandel, Director of CASA of Tuscarawas & Harrison Counties, will present information about what a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteer does and how to become one. CASA Volunteers advocate for the best interest of children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or dependency. People from all backgrounds and walks of life can complete the training and become CASA Volunteers. 

This program will be presented in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Tuscarawas County.

If you have a loved one with dementia or are interested in the subject, Become a Dementia Friend. A global movement developed by the Alzheimers Society in the United Kingdom and now underway in the USA. The goal is to help everyone in a community understand five key messages about dementia, how it affects people, and how we each can have an influence on the lives of people living with the disease.
