Cover to Cover: 2024 Reading Challenge
Adults and Teens in Tuscarawas County are encouraged to participate in the County Library’s Cover to Cover Reading Challenge. Participants are challenged to read 20 different books from specific genres throughout 2024. Those who complete the challenge will receive a free umbrella inscribed with the words “I’d Rather Be Reading.”

Interested participants can download the Beanstack Tracker app on any smartphone or tablet or visit tusclibrary.beanstack.org on the web. A paper version of the challenge will also be offered in the latest edition of Between the Lines – the library programming newsletter is delivered by mail to homes within the Library’s service district in Tuscarawas County.

Join us at the picnic pavilion for a Pop-Up Library with lunch provided in the cafeteria by the Salvation Army/Learning Zone Summer Food Program. Bring your library card or sign up for a new one and check out materials, register for programs, and even listen to a storytime. A hot lunch will be provided from 11: 00 AM - 12:00 PM for children ages 18 and under in attendance.

Tuscarawas County was not immune when it came to the rise of organized crime before, during, and after the era of Prohibition in the 1920s. Local historian, Noel Poirier will discuss the brutal gangland killing that took place in Tuscarawas County during the winter of 1934.

Sign up for a monthly book-themed box. Each box will include one library book (checked out to your card), as well as several other items you get to keep - like buttons, crafts, and more. Register by the dates listed above to receive that months box. Pick up your Lit Box at the TCPL location you select when registering. The sign-up date is the deadline to sign up for this program, and the boxes will be sent to the selected location the following week to be picked up. A library card is required to check out the books included.
