Cover to Cover: 2024 Reading Challenge
Adults and Teens in Tuscarawas County are encouraged to participate in the County Library’s Cover to Cover Reading Challenge. Participants are challenged to read 20 different books from specific genres throughout 2024. Those who complete the challenge will receive a free umbrella inscribed with the words “I’d Rather Be Reading.”

Interested participants can download the Beanstack Tracker app on any smartphone or tablet or visit tusclibrary.beanstack.org on the web. A paper version of the challenge will also be offered in the latest edition of Between the Lines – the library programming newsletter is delivered by mail to homes within the Library’s service district in Tuscarawas County.

Educator Collection

Educator Collection is a service available to preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, and home educators that supplies a classroom with a collection of materials on a specific subject or title for students. Use the form below to request a collection, and contact educator@tusclibrary.org with questions. Educator Card and Educator Collection Policy.

Please Note: TWO WEEKS' NOTICE is requested and will help us serve you and your students better. One week’s notice is required to process requests. Items not immediately available will be requested from other libraries.

Educators within our service area (Central Catholic Junior/Senior High School, Garaway, Indian Valley, New Philadelphia, Sandy Valley, Strasburg, and Tusky Valley) have the option of picking up their collection at one of our locations or having material delivered to their school.
Educators outside our service area (Claymont, Dover, Indian Valley High School only, Newcomerstown, and Central Catholic Elementary School) must pick up their collection at one of our locations.

Home Delivery

Home Delivery

The Mobile Services home delivery service is intended for individuals who are unable to come to the library on their own due to temporary or long-term illness, disability, or issues concerning mobility.

  • The Library's service district includes all of Tuscarawas County with the exceptions of residents who fall in another library service district, including households and care facilities located in the Dover, Claymont, and Newcomerstown school districts or the Village of Gnadenhutten.
  • There will be no checkout limits or late fines
  • Deliveries are made every two weeks
  • Customers are able to place their own holds or we will provide items based on a customer's likes and preferences

Pop-Up Library is a service that allows the library outside of its physical space to create an open-air library where you can check out library materials, ask questions about technology and digital collections, get a library card, sit and read, engage in an activity, or stay and play with featured items.

Program and Tour Request

Program and Tour Request

Groups are welcome to request a program or a guided tour of any of our five locations based on the availability of our staff and operating hours.

We currently offer programs and tours for youth or adult groups and organizations. Programs and tours are not scheduled on holidays or during staff in-service days. Please request programs/tours at least two weeks in advance to allow us the time to make your experience an enjoyable one.

We have a passionate group of staff ready to update your organization on all the new things happening at the library. They can also direct you to free resources to help your business, community organization, family, or education.
