The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will host Chris Hart for a Sir Arthur Conan Doyle performance at the Main Library on Wednesday, March 12th at 6:30 PM.
Chris Hart will act as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of the Sherlock Holmes series, and reflect on his complex relationship with the prominent Sherlock Holmes character. He will discuss how Holmes hindered his aspirations as an authoritative author, share the detective’s origins, and explain how public and financial pressures led him to resurrect the character after initially killing him off.
“Chris is an amazing performer and historian whose one-man performances both educate and entertain,” says Erin Snider, Public Services Associate. “We are lucky to have him present at the library.”
