Close Encounters with Animals

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System invites the community to join them this fall for some lively and engaging Animal Encounters.

  • Baby Goats at the Strasburg Branch (356 5th St. SW, Strasburg)
         Thursday, October 3rd at 5:00 PM
         Aunt E will bring baby goats to the library.
  • Baby Goats at the Library at the Sugarcreek Branch (120 S. Broadway)
        Tuesday, October 15th at 5:00 PM
        Aunt E is visiting the library with a variety of baby goats. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on.
  • Cows in Tusky at the Warwick and Lions Manor (416 E. Cherry St. Tuscarawas)
         Thursday, October 17th at 5:00 PM
         Come pet and learn about these gentle giants.
  • Chick Hatching at the Strasburg Branch 
         Tuesday, October 22nd at 6:00 PM
         OSU Extension educator Michelle will discuss chick hatching and will leave eggs to hatch at the library!
  • Reindeer at the Main Library (121 Fair Ave. NW, New Philadelphia)
        Saturday, November 16th at 11:00 AM
        Visit with reindeer during the Main Library’s Holiday Open House.
  • Akron ZooMobile at the Bolivar Branch (455 West Water St.)
        Saturday, November 16th at 1:00 PM
        Join the Akron ZooMobile to learn about and interact with three live animal ambassadors. Limit: 60
