Michelle McMorrow Ramsell
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with concentrations in English Journalism and a Master of Library and Information Science, both from Kent State University. Her favorite book changes frequently, but a title that remains in her top ten list is One Child by Torey Hayden. Michelle is a member of the American Library Association and an active member of the Ohio Library Council, speaking at conferences and serving on the Management and Administration Division. What Michelle likes most about being a librarian is the opportunity to connect with the people and the communities the library serves. Michelle is a former Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters and is currently an active volunteer with the New Philadelphia Business & Community Association, New Philadelphia Rotary, Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition and Women's Success Series Committee.
Originally growing up in Sandusky, Brian attended the University of Dayton and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing, with concentrations in Philosophy and Psychology. After working in the business world designing websites and living in Maine for a few years, Brian decided to switch careers and went to Kent State University to earn a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science. This was followed by working 15+ years at a library in Massachusetts, before returning to Ohio to be closer to family. When reading, Brian enjoys offbeat and absurdist fiction in print, and history and science as audiobooks. Outside the library, Brian enjoys exploring (whether by car or by foot), making and repairing things, and is an amateur competitive marksman.
Nikki holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Business and Economics from Muskingum University. Her favorite book is Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg. Nikki is an active member of the Ohio Library Council. Nikki enjoys budgeting and forecasting for the library and has been impressed by how passionate library staff are about books, children, service, and education. Outside of the library, Nikki is the Auditor for the City of Dover, board member for the Dover City Schools Education Foundation, and she is very active in Dover athletics due to having four children who love sports.
Deputy Fiscal Officer
Kathy holds an Associate of Applied Business in Accounting Technology from Kent State University. Her favorite book is Flag of Our Fathers by James Bradley. Kathy enjoys her role at the library, and especially enjoys working alongside such a professional, helpful, and friendly staff. Outside of the library, Kathy is heavily involved with her church and serves as their treasurer. She enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and going to the beach at Hilton Head Island.
Human Resources Coordinator
Jennifer graduated from Kent State University with an Associates degree in General Education. Her favorite authors are Nora Roberts and Debbie Macomber. As a child one of Jennifer's favorite books was The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein and she currently enjoys reading it to her children. Jennifer is an active member of the Ohio Library Council and the Tuscarawas County Society for Human Resource Management. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family.
Rick has a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Geology from The University of Akron. Storm Front by Jim Butcher is his favorite book. Rick’s favorite part of his work at the library is sharing his knowledge and skills with both the staff and the public. He encourages people to explore what is available at the library to use—and says they just might be surprised to see the variety offered! Rick is an active member of the Ohio Library Council. When not at the library, Rick enjoys working at Kenmore Connection and being a part of the Kenmore Board of Trade.
Adult Services Manager
Robyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Library and Information Science from Kent State University. Her favorite book is A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. What Robyn enjoys most about her work is being able to help people find what they need. Robyn is a member of the Ohio Library Council as well as the New Philadelphia Lions Club. Outside of work, Robyn is a huge movie buff and spends most of her free time at the movie theater.
Support Services Manager
Cara received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and her Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. Cara has too many favorite books to pick just one, but the book that has been her favorite the longest is Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson. She loves interacting with the community in the library because each day she learns at least one new thing. Cara is a member of the Ohio Library Council. When she is not at the library, she can be found playing with yarn and sheep.
Children's Services Manager
Linda holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications/Journalism and a Masters of Library and Information Science, both from Kent State University. Among her favorite books are A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Maggie Smith and The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang. Sharing the value of the public library and its resources with individuals and communities is what Linda enjoys most about her work. She is a member of the Ohio Library Council. Outside of work, Linda enjoys spending time with her family, biking, and gardening.
Public Relations Associate
Molly holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Kent State University. Her favorite book is The Heart Goes Last by Margaret Atwood. What Molly enjoys most about working at the library is getting to spread the love of reading throughout the community, as well as all of the unique experiences the library provides for the county. Molly is a member of the Ohio Library Council and the New Philadelphia Business and Community Association. Outside the library, Molly enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and cooking.
Technology Training Coordinator
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Kent State University. Jessica loves to read the classics, especially John Steinbeck, as well as cozy mysteries. What Jessica loves most about her job is learning new technologies and to apply their use in everyday life. Jessica is an active member of the Ohio Library Council, attending and presenting at conferences. When not in the library Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, and son, Justis. She enjoys sketching, camping, and exploring the different biking paths across the state.
Public Relations Associate
Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Dayton. Megan enjoys informing the community of the wonderful programs and events the library has to offer. She also loves sharing the library’s mascot Dewey with the children of Tuscarawas County. Her favorite book is the Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Megan is an active member of the Ohio Library Council, a past member of the Leaders of Tomorrow Committee, and a past member of the Ohio Library Council's Marketing and Public Relations Division. When not at the library, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, traveling the United States, and rehabbing old furniture.
Mobile Services Supervisor
Lacy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies with a Concentration in Performance from Kent State University. Her favorite book is Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit, but she loves A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket and anything written by Sue Monk Kid. Lacy's favorite thing about working for the library is being surrounded by books and getting to interact with customers. Outside of the library, Lacy loves to write, theatre, and acting. She hopes to one day publish a children's book.
Strasburg Branch Supervisor
Emily holds a Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies from Kent State University. The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis is her favorite book. Emily loves serving the adults and children of the Strasburg community. Leading storytime and encouraging kids to have a passion for reading are a few of the many things she enjoys about her job. When not at the library, she spends time with her family and is actively involved in her church, leading a young adult group and teaching the youth class.
Technical Services Supervisor
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Ohio Northern University. Her favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. It is no coincidence that her daughter is named Harper. What Melissa loves most about working at the library is the great staff, meeting patrons, and leading the Cookbook Lunch Club. Melissa is an active member of the Ohio Library Council and enjoys presenting at OLC’s Chapter Conferences. She also serves as secretary of New Philadelphia Central Elementary's PTO, volunteers with the Quaker Ladies, and serves as a youth volunteer at her church. Outside of the library, Melissa and her children enjoy riding bikes, hiking, swimming, playing board games, and reading.
Tusky Branch Supervisor
Tabitha holds an Associates of Arts in English and a Bachelors of Arts in History from Kent State University. Her favorite books are the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling and A Light In The Attic by Shel Silverstein. Tabitha is active within the Tuscarawas County tourism community; volunteering at Trumpet In The Land, The Little Theatre, and Schoenbrunn Village. What Tabitha loves most about working at the library is the ability to inspire even the most stubborn of readers to find the books that speak to them. When she's not at work, Tabitha enjoys spending time with her family, camping, planning vacations for others, and traveling to historical sites and museums.
Sugarcreek Branch Supervisor
Christine has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ohio University Eastern in St. Clairsville. Her favorite books are inspirational novels and books based on true stories. Christine is inspired each time she conducts storytime and watches the children’s faces light up as she reads to them. Christine is an active member of the Ohio Library Council and enjoys working with the Garaway Local Schools in partnership with the school's 21st-century grant. When she is not at the library, Christine enjoys gardening and spending quality time with her grandson.
Bolivar Branch Supervisor
Christina holds a Bachelor of Arts (English and Music Performance) from Malone University and a Master of Fine Arts (Creative Writing) from Bowling Green State University. Her literary role model is Ursula K. Le Guin, author of A Wizard of Earthsea. In addition to science fiction, Christina enjoys travel writing and creative nonfiction. Her favorite part of working at a library is helping other people research and discover new interests. Stay curious! When not in the library, Christina is probably out birding or training her shetland sheepdog, TJ.
