Juneteenth

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System’s Main Library will be hosting programs throughout the month of June for every age range to celebrate the Juneteenth Federal Holiday. The Library will be hosting Dr. Leslie Heaphy from Kent State Stark on Tuesday, June 14th at 6:00 PM to discuss the History of Juneteenth and why it is now recognized at a federal holiday. Next, teens will have a chance to learn about Juneteenth and the Journey to Emancipation from Spring Hill Site Manger Kayla Metzger on Wednesday, June 15th at 3:00 PM. A special family storytime event will be held on Friday, June 17th at 11:00 AM to celebrate this joyful holiday. Finally, each Monday during the month of June at 6:00 PM, the library will be hosting a Juneteenth Film Festival.
