The Tuscarawas County Public Library System’s Main Library in New Philadelphia will host living history interpreter Paul Goebbel as he presents his program “Ghost Stories of the Civil War.” This event will be held October 21st at 6:30 PM.
Paul Goebbel, a retired teacher and historical fiction author, will discuss first-person accounts of paranormal activities at Civil War sites and how these ghost stories present another way to explore a pivotal time in American history.
According to Goebbel, many of the stories are probably only local legends and folklore, but a good ghost hunter knows that these types of tales can sometimes point them in the right directions because many legends have a basis in facts.
As a special treat, the Dover High School Orchestra will perform spooky music live leading up to the start of this program, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
This program is free, but space is limited. To register visit the library’s online registration calendar or call 330-364-4474.
